The Speedgoat is a brand new trail shoe this year from Hoka One One. It gets its name from the Speedgoat 50K race in Utah put on by Ultra running legend Karl Meltzer. The Speedboat 50K is known as being a rough and rugged race. The shoe was designed with this race in mind, aiming to build a shoe that could handle the most technical of terrain. The HOKA Mafate Speed 4 weighs 10.3oz. The Mafate Speed 4 has a relatively low stack height when compared to what you may be used to seeing with some other HOKA running shoes. The height of the heel stack to the forefoot stack height results in a drop of 4mm from heel to toe – and I love how this feels. It’s no secret I much prefer a lower The Mafate Speed 2 contains features that make the shoe inherently stable, such as a wide base and our Active Foot Frame, for a moderate amount of stability that is still designed to work for neutral gaits. The Mafate Speed 2 features a symmetrical bed of cushion without additional prescriptive technologies. Hoka One One Speedgoat 2 Review by Matthew Imberman. The Good. Hoka seems to have finally designed a shoe that I’d want to take on technical trails–and hey, I can even get my foot into them! It’s available to buy now at HOKA US, HOKA UK and HOKA AU for a recommended retail price of Ā£130/$145/AU$250. The Challenger slots in between the HOKA Speedgoat 5 (Ā£140/$155) and the HOKA Hoka Speedgoat 5 | Gearist 2022. One part of the upper of this Hoka Speedgoat 5 review certainly cannot go without mentioning is the addition of the extended heel pull tab. In previous versions such as the Speedgoat 4, there was a more ā€œnormalā€ heel pull loop. In the Speedgoat 5, Hoka has gone with what looks like an extension of the top Hoka One One Speedgoat 5 shoes are part of an award-winning family known for taking the technical ground. The new Speedgoat 5 provides a smooth and enjoyable ride, but the underfoot feel is firmer, and the bounce is more classic and moderate. The stack height and drop are identical for both shoes: 33 mm in the heel and 5 mm, respectively. Despite this, the Tecton X is much lighter with 252 g/8.9 oz against 290 g/10.2 oz for the SG5, or 38 g/1.3 oz
Yes, your wider feet will do better than mine in the Speedgoat 5. The benefit to that mesh is the high amount of comfort in the upper. And it isn’t as stretchy as the NB 1080v12 for example. I do think this feels a bit loose on the upper for my liking, however, not to the point that Im feeling the sides of the midsole.
